Staff Site Reliability Engineer (Remote, AWS)

Location: Remote, US only

Base pay: $170,000–$210,000 per year

What you will do

• Identify production incident risks and plan preventive improvements.
• Design globally distributed systems and operational processes.
• Find and correct deficiencies in applications and infrastructure.
• Define solutions for complex technical problems and communicate them through documentation and collaboration.
• Translate strategic goals into operational plans and coordinate work across functional boundaries.
• Lead larger sub-projects or small projects when needed.

Requirements

• Must be located in the United States for this remote position.
• BS, MS, PhD, or equivalent education with 8 years of experience.
• Proficiency in multiple or unfamiliar programming languages, such as Python, Ruby, or JavaScript.
• Experience architecting high-scale AWS systems and repeatable CI/CD workflows; GitLab experience is preferred.
• Ability to understand, debug, and explain complex distributed systems, with strong communication, documentation, and time-management skills.
• AWS Cloud Certification at Associate level.

Nice to have

• Professional-level AWS Cloud Certification.
• Experience with GCP or Azure.
• Experience working for a public company.
• Open-source contributions or technical blog experience.
• Training in secure coding practices.
