Co-Op, Protein Design

Location: Norwood, Massachusetts, with a 70/30 in-office work model. Full-time co-op from January 18 to June 25, 2027; candidates must be available for the entire program and already hold US work authorization.

Salary: $20.00–$60.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Support structural biology laboratory operations at the Tundra laboratory in the Norwood manufacturing site.
• Prepare proteins, solutions, and screens for routine X-ray crystallography experiments.
• Design and run screening and optimization experiments using laboratory robotics.
• Model and refine 3D protein structures with crystallographic software and learn alongside Cryo-EM scientists.
• Maintain research documentation, present data, organize the laboratory, and support housekeeping activities.
• Follow site safety and compliance requirements, complete training, and contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, chemical engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
• Foundational laboratory skills applicable to research.
• Existing US work authorization is required; immigration sponsorship is not available.
• Ability to work for the full co-op period from January 18 through June 25, 2027.
• Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and compliance.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent academic achievement.
• Background in or strong interest in structural biology, X-ray crystallography, and Cryo-EM.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.
