What you will do

• Apply advanced solid-state characterization methods, especially solid-state NMR, to support drug substance and drug product process development for synthetic and biologic programs.
• Develop and implement innovative ssNMR techniques to study drug structures, molecular interactions, excipient–drug interactions, and heterogeneous mixtures.
• Drive lead optimization, solid-form screening and selection, developability assessment, and preclinical formulation support.
• Perform biopharmaceutical assessments using predictive in silico and in vitro models to identify development strategies.
• Support early clinical liquid dosage forms, technical transfers, and GMP clinical manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Process Development and Research & Discovery partners, train staff, present scientific findings, and contribute to regulatory and patent filings.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree, or a master’s degree with 2 years of scientific experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 4 years of scientific experience.
• Advanced background in solid-state NMR spectroscopy method development and theory, preferably with scientific presentations or peer-reviewed publications.
• Experience with ssNMR instrumentation, operation, and maintenance is beneficial.
• Knowledge of solid-state characterization techniques such as DSC, TGA, XRPD, microscopy, moisture sorption, or particle characterization.
• Knowledge of polymorphism, solvates, hydrates, salts, co-crystals, molecular modeling, and NMR simulation is beneficial.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, problem-solving, collaboration, and independent-working skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in physics, materials science, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Experience characterizing small- and large-molecule drug substances and drug products, including solid-form analysis, impurity-phase or amorphous-content detection, and physical-stability assessment.
