Mechanical & Piping Designer (Power Generation)

What you will do

• Develop mechanical and piping designs from initial concepts through detailed engineering deliverables.
• Create 3D models, general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, pipework layouts, equipment skid designs, and installation details using AutoCAD and related tools.
• Support sales and proposals teams with preliminary layouts and tender designs, then develop complete execution packages.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers, Project Managers, Site Engineers, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Conduct site visits and surveys, resolve technical challenges, and produce accurate as-built documentation after installation.
• Maintain component libraries and standardized design solutions while meeting health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience designing and detailing piping installations.
• OND/ONC in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline, supported by relevant industry experience.
• Experience with industrial mechanical systems, processes, and applications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D Modelling, AutoCAD Plant P&ID, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Autodesk Navisworks.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.

Nice to have

• HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with additional 3D design and modelling software.
• Experience in power generation, energy, process plant, or related industrial sectors.
