Graduate Mechanical Engineer (Energy Infrastructure)

Location: Warrington, United Kingdom; the role includes construction-site attendance and virtual and in-person programme events.

What you will do

• Support mechanical engineering design for gas infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pipework systems, pressure regulating and metering stations, compressor stations, AGIs, CO2 pipelines, and biomethane injection facilities.
• Prepare equipment specifications, datasheets, engineering calculations, reports, and technical documentation.
• Review vendor documentation, support material selection and equipment sizing, and assist with procurement and temporary works design.
• Support project milestones, multidisciplinary design reviews, schedules, and deliverable management.
• Attend construction sites, support surveys and asset verification, and participate in commissioning, start-up, safety observations, and lessons learned.
• Develop technical and project delivery skills while working toward IEng or CEng professional registration.

Requirements

• Minimum 2.2 Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Availability to start full-time work by December 2026 at the latest.
• Commitment and motivation to successfully complete the two-year graduate programme.

Nice to have

• Placement year or internship experience.
• Familiarity with CAD software.
• Exposure to energy, utilities, oil and gas, hydrogen, or renewable gas projects.
