Principal, Technical Program Manager

Location: Onsite at the Main Home Office Building in Bentonville, Arkansas, United States

Annual salary: $110,000–$220,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Define and manage large-scale technical programs with multiple dependencies, aligning goals, timelines, and resources across teams.
• Lead system design discussions and translate product requirements into scalable, high-availability technical solutions.
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve conflicts, and clarify ambiguous situations to maintain delivery momentum.
• Establish standardized workflows, prioritization frameworks, and automation opportunities to improve program efficiency.
• Communicate progress, risks, and impacts to stakeholders and drive informed decision-making.
• Mentor team members on technical and program management best practices.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field; or 8 years of relevant experience without the degree requirement.
• Experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or a related area.
• Expertise in program and project management, risk management, stakeholder management, system architecture, software design, cloud infrastructure, and platform capabilities.
• Ability to define goals, stage gates, and critical delivery paths for complex technical programs.
• Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, consensus-building, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Project management certification.
• Master’s degree in business administration with a relevant specialization.
• Experience in product design.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
