People & Talent Manager (AI)

Location: On-site in London or Munich

What you will do

• Own hiring from role definition through accepted offer, initially focusing on research, machine learning, engineering and other highly technical roles.
• Source researchers and engineers through direct outreach, referrals, academic networks, research conferences and industry communities.
• Partner with founders and hiring managers to define success criteria and assess specialist candidates consistently.
• Manage the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, people records and day-to-day employee processes.
• Develop performance, feedback, development and manager-support practices as the company grows.
• Use hiring and people data to improve processes and support leadership planning across the London and Munich teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in talent acquisition, people operations or a related role, with a strong record of recruiting for technology teams.
• Experience sourcing and hiring PhD-level researchers, postdoctoral researchers or research scientists, as well as highly specialised engineers.
• Ability to understand research profiles, publications and technical career paths and build credibility with candidates and hiring managers.
• Experience building or owning people processes beyond hiring, such as onboarding, performance, employee development or HR operations.
• Sound judgment, discretion, empathy, strong organisation and reliable follow-through when handling sensitive people matters.
• Practical and proactive approach to building processes for a growing company.

Nice to have

• Hiring experience in machine learning, computer vision, graphics, robotics or related fields.
• Relationships with relevant universities, research labs or deep tech communities.
• Experience in an early-stage or rapidly growing technology company.
