TL;DR
Operations Support Technician (EHS and Logistics) (SAP, hazardous materials, and warehouse operations): Supporting warehouse logistics, shipment processing, hazardous-material handling, and facility safety at an onsite LED manufacturing campus with an accent on EHS compliance, regulatory documentation, and emergency response. Focus on coordinating SAP and FedEx transactions, maintaining hazardous-waste records, conducting safety audits, and responding to chemical spills and onsite medical emergencies.
Location: Onsite at the Durham, North Carolina campus, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm; occasional weekday on-call responsibilities. No travel.
Salary: $22–$26 per hour in North Carolina; bonus eligible.

What you will do
- Maintain an organized warehouse using 5S standards and coordinate the receipt, verification, and staging of incoming materials.
- Process domestic and international shipments with FedEx software, including labeling, HTS codes, documentation, and hazardous-material packaging.
- Execute SAP transactions for goods receipts, stock transport orders, purchase orders, and service confirmations.
- Move industrial drums and heavy containers safely using pallet jacks, drum dollies, and other appropriate equipment.
- Support contractor safety walks, facility audits, employee safety mentoring, emergency response, and chemical spill cleanup.
- Maintain safety logs, inventory data, hazardous-waste manifests, regulatory records, and compliance information in Excel, Word, and Brightly.
Requirements
- Reliability, punctuality, strong organization, attention to detail, and effective communication.
- Ability to collaborate with Planning, Procurement, R&D, vendors, and other cross-functional teams.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and handle 55-gallon drums with appropriate equipment.
- Ability to wear all required PPE, including respirators and chemical-resistant gear, without restriction.
- IATA Dangerous Goods Certification required within 90 days; RCRA, DOT Hazardous Materials, and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are also part of the training plan.
