Shipping & Receiving Specialist

Location: Fairport, NY, United States; onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

Hourly compensation: $16.11–$29.85 in local currency.

What you will do

• Prepare export and shipping documents and coordinate domestic and international freight transactions.
• Schedule carriers, compare freight rates, resolve customs-clearance issues, and maintain knowledge of import/export requirements.
• Review customer orders, coordinate shipment completion with manufacturing, and complete final dispatch and invoicing transactions.
• Maintain shipping records, tracking information, inventory-system data, and archived shipment documentation.
• Conduct physical inventory and support receiving and warehouse operations, including loading, unloading, counting, stocking, picking, packaging, and preparing skids and cartons.
• Document updated procedures, provide training when needed, and act as group leader when the Shipping Coordinator or Supervisor is absent.

Requirements

• HSD/GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in shipping.
• Proficiency with carrier and internet-based shipping software, including UPS WorldShip, DHL, and FedEx Internet shipping.
• Proficient English reading and writing skills, including the ability to understand MSDS sheets and standard work instructions.
• Ability to follow established procedures, prioritize work, remain organized and detail-oriented, communicate effectively, and deliver consistent quality.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of US Export Administration Regulations.
• Experience preparing export documents.
• Oracle experience.
