What you will do

• Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of B2B commercial agreements including distribution, partnership, and supplier contracts.
• Advise on consumer law, product safety, and regulatory conformity for connected hardware.
• Lead data protection and privacy compliance, including UK GDPR, across customer and device data.
• Manage intellectual property protection and third-party licensing for hardware and software.
• Oversee corporate governance, international expansion legal support, and insurance programs.
• Establish contract templates, approval workflows, and playbooks to scale the legal function.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent) with a strong track record at GC or senior-counsel level.
• Broad generalist commercial capability with strength in contracting and experience in product, regulatory, data, or IP law.
• Ability to operate as a sole or lead legal function with a self-directed and decisive approach.
• Pragmatic, commercial mindset capable of balancing risk with business growth objectives.
• Sound judgment in complex, ambiguous situations.

Nice to have

• In-house experience at a manufacturer, hardware, consumer-tech, energy, or mobility business.
• Familiarity with connected/IoT products and associated liability/IP questions.
• Experience across both B2B and B2C legal environments.
• Exposure to product-safety and product-liability matters.
• Experience establishing or scaling an in-house legal function.
