Senior Data Privacy Manager (Fintech)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Hybrid role requiring attendance at the London office 2–3 days per week. Working abroad is permitted for up to 120 days per year, subject to having the right to work in the country of choice.

What you will do

• Act as the senior first-line privacy lead across the business.
• Build and embed a risk-based data privacy framework, including a practical view of risk appetite.
• Partner with Engineering, Technology, Operations, Legal, Risk and Information Security on complex data-use and governance decisions.
• Lead responses to significant privacy issues and ensure decisions are properly evidenced.
• Manage, mentor and develop a Data Privacy Associate.
• Identify privacy processes that can be simplified or automated and represent the first-line privacy perspective with senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Substantial practical data privacy experience and strong knowledge of UK GDPR and its enforcement context.
• Experience shaping privacy frameworks, governance arrangements or operating models.
• Ability to balance privacy rights, customer protection, business objectives and residual risk.
• Strong communication and judgement when explaining complex privacy issues to non-specialists.
• Experience building relationships with product, technology, operations, legal, risk and security stakeholders.
• Experience managing, mentoring or developing other people.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, technology, banking or another regulated environment.
• Experience with automated decision-making systems that have significant or legal effects.
• Knowledge of privacy issues in AI model training, prompting and outputs.
• Experience automating privacy processes.
• Legal, operational-risk or data-protection qualifications.
