Senior Web QA Engineer

Location: New York City or San Francisco, United States

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year for U.S.-based positions

What you will do

• Test the web product across browsers, devices, and screen sizes throughout the development cycle.
• Validate functionality, reliability, performance, and responsive behavior across environments and builds.
• Run integration and end-to-end testing across connected Perplexity products, accounts, and shared flows.
• Work with engineering and product teams to prioritize critical bugs, write actionable reports, and support resolution.
• Create and maintain test cases, checklists, test plans, and other QA documentation.
• Analyze user-reported issues and incidents, and fix small, low-risk issues when appropriate.

Requirements

• 5+ years of QA experience with strong hands-on web application testing.
• Experience with cross-browser testing, responsive testing, browser DevTools, console, network, and performance debugging.
• Experience with integration and end-to-end testing across multiple connected products or services.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering, product, and QA teams.
• Proactive use of AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code to navigate codebases, debug issues, and ship small fixes.
• Ability to work from New York City or San Francisco.
