Senior Financial Navigating Specialist (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Location: Onsite at Mercy - St Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio; candidates must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $20.45–$22.50 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Guide patients through their financial journey from admission through post-discharge.
• Review benefits, estimate out-of-pocket costs, arrange payments, and conduct Medicaid screening or financial assistance assessments.
• Calculate patient liabilities, collect point-of-service payments, and resolve billing and coverage questions.
• Maintain accurate account documentation and provide face-to-face financial guidance to patients.
• Monitor trends, prepare operational reports, and support process improvements that reduce financial barriers.
• Collaborate with case management, social workers, physician liaisons, and other personnel while meeting department KPIs.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience across multiple revenue cycle areas, such as financial counseling, customer service, Medicaid advocacy or eligibility, or case and eligibility services.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of revenue cycle processes.
• Must be able to work onsite in Youngstown, Ohio, and reside and be authorized to work within the United States.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; team leads may take on-call shifts and work other shifts.
