Occupational Hygienist

Location: Belfast, United Kingdom; some travel within the UK and internationally is required.

What you will do

• Manage the chemical safety lifecycle, including assessing and approving new materials and communicating hazards.
• Conduct workplace inspections, identify occupational health hazards, and implement monitoring strategies.
• Analyse exposure data against UK exposure limits and applicable health and safety regulations.
• Design and implement engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE requirements.
• Develop occupational hygiene and health and safety training programs.
• Support compliance across UK sites and represent the UK on transnational activities.

Requirements

• BOHS qualification, active progress toward a BOHS qualification, or an equivalent qualification in chemical risk assessment.
• At least two years of experience conducting workplace risk assessments, particularly for chemical exposure, in a UK context.
• Experience developing and implementing exposure control measures, including engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE.
• Proficiency with industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and software.
• Strong data analysis skills for interpreting monitoring results against UK exposure limits.
• Successful applicants will be subject to BPSS and Export Control checks, including a criminal record check.
