What you will do
- Perform quality assurance and quality control across the enterprise data management and data development lifecycle.
- Review requirements and technical specifications, participate in backlog refinement, and create acceptance criteria and test cases.
- Design and execute data validation, unit, integration, regression, and source-to-target tests across SSIS, dbt, Fivetran, Python ingestion, and Databricks pipelines.
- Run quality gate checks covering accuracy, latency, performance, and security; validate completed data products and support post-production audits.
- Document defects in Azure DevOps, retest fixes, and collaborate with business analysts and developers to clarify expected results.
- Maintain and extend automated regression checks and use AI/LLM tools for test case generation, synthetic data, and query review while validating their output.
Requirements
- 2+ years of QA testing experience, preferably in data engineering or data warehousing.
- Strong SQL skills for data validation and reconciliation, plus basic Python scripting.
- Experience testing ETL/ELT loads or data warehouse changes.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent defect and test management tools.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and strong communication, problem-solving, and deadline-management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, PySpark, Delta Lake, Databricks Workflows/Jobs, or other Big Data/Spark platforms.
- Exposure to data test automation frameworks such as pytest or dbt tests.
- Experience with Tableau or other BI reporting layers.
- Banking or financial services industry experience.
