Data Protection & AI Governance Manager

Location: Berlin, Germany (hybrid) or Munich, Germany (remote)

What you will do

• Coordinate data protection requests and compliance measures with external law firms covering the EEA, UK, and US.
• Maintain records of processing activities and other privacy compliance documentation.
• Support DPIAs, assessments of new processing activities, and cross-border data transfer arrangements.
• Coordinate audits, training sessions, supervisory authority notifications, and day-to-day privacy questions.
• Develop the company-wide AI governance framework, including processes, policies, roles, and an AI risk register.
• Assess and classify AI systems, conduct AI use-case risk assessments, and develop responsible AI guidelines.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in data protection, compliance, AI governance, or a related field; more experienced candidates may be considered for a senior-level position.
• Strong knowledge of AI regulation, particularly the EU AI Act.
• Ability to assess and classify technical systems with a solid conceptual understanding of AI systems.
• Interest in international data protection topics, including UK GDPR and US privacy law.
• Experience coordinating external law firms or DPOs across jurisdictions is advantageous.
