Senior Software Engineer (Java) - Client Platform (AI)

Location: Kraków, Poland; hybrid working with three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Build and maintain internal tooling that embeds AI into coding, test generation, deployments, defect triage, and daily engineering work.
• Improve observability across AI-assisted engineering pipelines and track cycle time, defect escape rate, test coverage, and delivery turnaround.
• Identify manual coding, testing, and release activities suitable for unattended automation.
• Evaluate and safely integrate LLM-based developer tools with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and CI/CD environments.
• Partner with product, testing, project management, security, and compliance functions to deliver responsible AI adoption.
• Mentor engineers and help define standards for data handling, prompt hygiene, and production-data safeguards.

Requirements

• Extensive software engineering experience with strong technical judgment on production systems.
• Hands-on expertise in Java or a comparable backend service ecosystem.
• Strong experience with test-driven development and pair programming.
• Experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting production systems.
• Genuine interest in aggressive automation and eliminating manual engineering steps.
• Experience evaluating or using LLM-based developer tools in a real engineering environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with MCP, agentic tooling, or Spec Driven Development.
• Familiarity with the Atlassian ecosystem and its APIs.
• Experience in financial services, trading platforms, or other regulated, high-reliability environments.
