Domain Architect (iGaming)

Location: Belgium Hub Liège; hybrid working model with the possibility to work remotely up to 50% of the working time

What you will do

• Own and evolve the architecture of a core business and technology domain, including capabilities, boundaries, services, and integration patterns.
• Translate business objectives and strategic capabilities into architectural roadmaps and pragmatic technical solutions.
• Design and guide scalable, resilient, and maintainable distributed systems.
• Define architectural principles, standards, reusable patterns, and guardrails that enable autonomous delivery.
• Collaborate with engineering managers, heads of engineering, product, business, and delivery teams to ensure high-quality execution.
• Ensure coherent integration with the wider platform, including data, infrastructure, analytics, experimentation, developer experience, and DataMesh.

Requirements

• Strong background in software and backend system design.
• Deep experience with microservices and distributed architectures.
• Solid understanding of event-driven systems such as Kafka and messaging systems, API design, integration patterns, scalability, resilience, and performance optimization.
• Strong knowledge of domain-driven design, domain boundaries, service ownership, and complex domain analysis.
• Ability to balance delivery speed, complexity, performance, maintainability, and long-term sustainability.
• Independent, pragmatic, and hands-on approach, including reviewing code, validating designs, assessing data, and unblocking engineering teams.
