Customer Integration Engineer (ML Triaging Engineer)

Location: Tokyo, Japan. Hybrid working model with in-person collaboration in dedicated office spaces, remote work, core hours, and hands-on work in vehicle workshops and labs.

What you will do

• Analyze real-world run data and on-road interventions as part of first-level triage.
• Investigate issues, identify likely root causes, and collaborate with Detective Engineers on ambiguous or complex runs.
• Support Triage Engineers in improving automated triage solutions, bots, offline metrics, and simulation suites.
• Manage issues through identification, investigation, resolution, documentation, reporting, and follow-through.
• Add accurate intervention metadata, including root-cause labels, Jira links, and comments.
• Provide feedback on triage tooling and contribute to safety, quality, and operational discipline.

Requirements

• Previous experience in ADAS, autonomous vehicles, or testing.
• Quality-focused and safety-first mindset with strong analytical, logical reasoning, and bias-free problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn and use internal tools and software platforms, with comfort using ADAS and software-stack terminology.
• Strong debugging, documentation, investigation, communication, and collaboration skills across distributed teams and time zones.
• Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy during extended analysis sessions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, issue tracking, or configuration management.
• Knowledge of source control, requirements analysis, build pipelines, software release workflows, or release testing.
• Basic scripting experience with Bash or Python.
• SQL and data-analysis proficiency for log review and trend analysis.
• Experience with autonomous-vehicle testing or robotics systems.

Hiring process

• Initial recruiter call lasting approximately 30 minutes.
• Competency interviews with the hiring manager lasting 30–45 minutes.
• Deep-dive technical interviews covering solution and workflow development, practical triage, and data analysis, followed by a one-hour final mission and values interview.
