AI Validation Engineer (Autonomous Driving)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA; hybrid working model combining in-person collaboration with remote work.

Salary: Senior $209,700–$266,800 annually; Staff $276,100–$311,400 annually.

What you will do

• Own validation for driving-behavior competencies from strategy through execution.
• Develop metrics and automated tests connecting product requirements to measurable driving performance.
• Run simulation-based evaluations, analyze results, and investigate failure modes.
• Define coverage requirements, test suites, and acceptance criteria with Product, Safety, and AV Engineering.
• Report findings to Release and Autonomy Engineering stakeholders.
• Collaborate across data, simulation, and evaluation teams to scale automated validation.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience validating behavior in autonomous driving, robotics, or a related product domain.
• Understanding of validation challenges beyond basic lane-keeping or conventional ADAS, including L2+, L3, or L4 systems.
• Professional Python experience and the ability to implement metrics, tests, or evaluation tools.
• Systems-thinking skills and the ability to turn ambiguous requirements into practical automated tests.
• Ability to adapt to evolving simulation paradigms and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience with SQL, large datasets, AI tooling, or agentic workflows is helpful.
