TL;DR

What you will do

  • Define the long-term performance testing strategy, reference architecture, roadmap, benchmarks, and service level objectives.
  • Lead the technical direction of performance engineering, including coding standards, design reviews, mentoring, and cross-team best practices.
  • Architect frameworks, harnesses, environments, data generation, and distributed execution for realistic production-scale and multi-tenant load.
  • Investigate bottlenecks, memory leaks, contention, and scalability limits, driving optimizations with development and DevOps teams.
  • Integrate automated performance validation, regression gates, trend tracking, dashboards, and reporting into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Partner with engineering, DevOps, product, and support leadership on capacity planning, architecture, and release decisions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in performance or automation engineering, software development, or DevOps, including 5+ years in load and performance engineering for large-scale or distributed systems.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS performance, scaling, and monitoring services, including EC2, CloudWatch, ELB, Auto Scaling, and S3.
  • Expert understanding of distributed systems, application workflows, data stores, caching, queuing, infrastructure, capacity planning, and system behavior under load.
  • Strong programming skills are required for k6 test suites, custom scripts, load generators, data generation, and result-processing tools using JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#.
  • Expertise with k6, CI/CD integration, and observability and profiling tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, and OpenSearch.

  • Cloud platform certifications.
  • Experience with APM and profiling tools, chaos or resilience testing, database and query performance tuning, and large-scale SaaS or desktop applications.
