Software Test Engineer II (AI)

Location: Holtsville, New York, United States; hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office

Salary: $86,080–$129,120 annual base pay, plus a target annual cash incentive of 10% of base pay.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated tests for software components and integrated systems.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, automation scripts, traceability records, and validation documentation.
• Analyze test results, investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and recommend solutions for complex software and system issues.
• Use approved AI and GenAI tools for test planning, test generation, automation development, defect triage, root cause analysis, and coverage analysis.
• Use quality data and AI-assisted analytics to identify product trends, release risks, and additional validation needs.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Program teams, and external stakeholders to improve validation workflows and release readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of software engineering experience focused on system software testing and test automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of software development and testing life cycles, including Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in the Holtsville, New York office.
• Strong technical problem-solving, analytical, data-driven decision-making, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to critically assess AI-generated outputs for accuracy, traceability, security, compliance, and responsible use.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
• Familiarity with operating systems, algorithms, software development frameworks, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with approved AI-assisted development or testing tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or AI-based test generation tools.
• Understanding of data privacy, security, intellectual property protection, and responsible AI practices.
