Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for MLP Optics Competence

hirify.global is hiring for a supplier quality role supporting products that use complex optical components and assemblies.

What you will do

• Engage optical suppliers during early Product Generation Process phases and drive readiness reviews, qualification, technology transfers, and industrialization for new products.
• Establish supplier quality requirements, control plans, process validations, acceptance criteria, and controls for critical optical characteristics.
• Lead containment, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and cross-functional resolution of complex supplier quality incidents.
• Conduct supplier audits and risk assessments covering optical fabrication, coatings, contamination control, assembly, yield, process stability, and metrology.
• Support supplier selection and technology assessment through capability evaluations, technical benchmarking, maturity analysis, and scalability reviews.
• Monitor PPM, yield, qualification timing, process capability, audit findings, and NPI readiness while coordinating with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in optical engineering, physics, precision engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or supplier development.
• Experience with complex NPI products in high-tech manufacturing and with optical or precision manufacturing suppliers.
• Knowledge of precision optics manufacturing, optical polishing and grinding, thin-film coatings, cleaning and contamination control, optical assembly and alignment, interferometry, or optical metrology.
• Knowledge of SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, supplier auditing, process qualification, quality systems, and risk management.
• Must be legally authorized to access technology controlled under United States Export Administration Regulations before starting work.
