Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake/dbt)

Location: Hybrid in Denver, Colorado, with at least 3 days per week in the office

Base salary: $140,000–$180,000 per year, plus eligibility for a company bonus plan

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines and ELT workflows at scale.
• Develop and own a Snowflake-based data warehouse using dbt models, tests, documentation, and incremental strategies.
• Translate analytics and business requirements into reliable, well-modeled datasets.
• Write and optimize complex SQL for large analytical datasets.
• Integrate data from CRM, product analytics, finance, and other third-party SaaS platforms.
• Own data solutions end to end, including technical design, documentation, testing, CI/CD, production quality, and long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production-grade data platforms, scalable pipelines, and cloud data warehouses.
• 2+ years of production experience using dbt for scalable and well-tested data warehouse solutions.
• Strong SQL expertise, including complex analytical queries, performance optimization, and large datasets.
• Production experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse.
• Strong proficiency in Python or another object-oriented language, including maintainable and tested code.
• Solid data and software engineering fundamentals, including data modeling, Git, testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Advanced Snowflake expertise in performance tuning, query profiling, and warehouse optimization.
• Experience with dimensional and enterprise data modeling methodologies such as Kimball or Inmon.
• Experience owning analytics solutions for Finance, Sales, or Marketing domains.
• Advanced Python experience or multiple production dbt implementations with mature testing, CI/CD, and multi-environment deployment practices.
