Software Engineering Manager, Billing & Integrations (SaaS)

What you will do

• Lead delivery of a reliable monetization platform covering usage metering, plans, subscriptions, spend controls, invoices, and partner integrations.
• Own the engineering roadmap with Product, balancing new billing capabilities, customer-facing improvements, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Guide usage-to-invoice architecture, including metering correctness, subscription lifecycle, reconciliation, budget controls, and limit enforcement.
• Turn billing and invoicing requirements into documented APIs and self-service tools that other teams can operate independently.
• Coach and develop engineers through feedback, ownership, career support, hiring, architecture reviews, and technical guidance.
• Partner with Product, Growth, Finance, RevOps, Support, and engineering teams while keeping integrations reliable and aligned with upstream API changes.

Requirements

• Must be based in Oslo, Norway, or London, UK.
• Proven experience managing engineers and delivering software at a product or SaaS company, supported by substantial hands-on engineering experience.
• Experience leading backend or platform systems where correctness and reliability are critical.
• Strong understanding of event-driven systems, API contracts, idempotency, retries, consistency, reconciliation, and safe changes to critical state.
• Ability to communicate technical designs and trade-offs clearly with engineering and non-technical partners.
• Ability to set priorities, deliver incrementally, develop people, and work effectively across functions and time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience with billing, payments, usage metering, subscriptions, or entitlements.
• Familiarity with Orb, Stripe, or Temporal.
