Chief of Staff (Healthtech)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid and flexible work with an inviting office in Downtown SF. Work from anywhere is available for up to four weeks per year.

Salary: $165,000–$195,000 for L5 or $180,000–$215,000 for L6, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end venture fundraising due diligence, including materials, data rooms, investor outreach, pipeline management, and follow-through.
• Coordinate relationships with prospective and existing investors, prepare board materials, manage board cadence, and track follow-ups.
• Reduce CEO operational overhead by owning recurring processes, decision tracking, stakeholder communication, and meeting preparation.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives, clarify ownership and timelines, and build scalable processes to address organizational bottlenecks.
• Draft investor updates, company-wide announcements, partner communications, and CEO thought leadership content.
• Create consistent messaging frameworks for the CEO and leadership team across external and internal communications.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience, including management consulting at McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or an equivalent firm and operating experience at a high-growth startup.
• Experience supporting or managing fundraising processes, ideally from Series A through Series D, with a strong understanding of investor relations and venture dynamics.
• Experience operating across strategy and execution, including board-level communication and building processes from scratch.
• Experience in healthtech, biotech, or another highly complex industry.
• Proven AI literacy, including active daily use of AI tools beyond basic prompting and the ability to help others adopt them.
• Exceptional written communication, attention to detail, prioritization, emotional intelligence, and collaborative leadership.
