General Manager of Marketplace (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or New York City, United States

Salary: $205K–$235K per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own contributor supply end to end across acquisition, application, approval, activation, retention, and delivered hours.
• Lead Marketplace Leads responsible for contributor growth and engagement across production ramps.
• Set supply targets, budgets, capacity plans, and weekly ramp plans with Data Operations GMs and product operations leads.
• Run weekly operating reviews, monitor pacing, and escalate issues across languages, projects, and acquisition channels.
• Manage marketplace metrics and unit economics, including pool size, activation, retention, productivity, and cost per activation.
• Partner with product, engineering, QA, payments, and data science to improve contributor experience and remove operational bottlenecks.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in high-ownership roles such as GM, founder, COO, or startup strategy and operations.
• Direct experience running the supply side of a gig, flexible-labor, freelance, or comparable marketplace.
• Experience owning a supply funnel from first contact through first completed job against weekly targets and a budget.
• Experience building budgets and capacity plans, balancing supply and demand across multiple markets, and leading operators or growth leads.
• Strong operating discipline, attention to detail, bias to action, comfort with ambiguity, and collaborative leadership.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco or New York City.

• Experience with AI training data, data labeling, crowd-work, or freelance marketplaces.
• Experience recruiting a global, multilingual workforce across multiple countries.
• Hands-on experience with paid acquisition, job boards, partnerships, or referral programs.
• Experience working with voice talent, creators, or other creative communities.
