Engineering Technician (Robotics)

Location: Fremont Office, on-site; occasional travel to customer and partner sites, approximately 10–20%

What you will do

• Assemble, integrate, configure, and bring up robots, subsystems, compute platforms, and test fixtures.
• Run component-, subsystem-, and system-level functional, performance, endurance, and environmental tests.
• Develop test procedures, maintain test fixtures and stations, and automate repetitive testing and data capture with Python or Bash.
• Maintain the internal robot fleet, perform inspections and repairs, and track wear and failure trends.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and system-level faults using diagnostic instruments, logs, and telemetry; document root causes and repairs.
• Support customer and partner installations, repairs, and debugging in the field.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience building, testing, maintaining, or repairing complex electromechanical systems.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fundamentals, including schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, crimping, soldering, harness work, and torque-controlled assembly.
• Experience using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and current probes.
• Comfort with Linux command-line tools, SSH, logs, scripts, firmware flashing, and software updates.
• Methodical testing and documentation skills, with clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and travel occasionally; an engineering or technical degree, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with humanoid, legged, or mobile manipulation robots and multi-actuator systems.
• Familiarity with ROS 2, EtherCAT, CAN, or NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
• Python scripting for test automation or data analysis.
• Experience with environmental, reliability, or life testing.
• IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, or J-STD-001 certification.
