Director, Contracts & Negotiations - Federal

Location: Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia within the DMV Beltway region; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance required

Salary: $171,960–$326,520 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead contractual strategy for federal growth pursuits, including deal shaping, risk analysis, competitive positioning, and transaction structuring.
• Direct negotiation, drafting, administration, and closeout of federal prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, NDAs, and related commercial instruments.
• Act as the primary contractual contact for Government Contracting Officers, agency acquisition officials, prime partners, and customers.
• Develop negotiation and risk management strategies covering legal, financial, operational, compliance, and reputational interests.
• Partner with Legal, Finance, Procurement, Security, Compliance, HR, and Delivery teams to resolve disputes and performance issues.
• Lead and mentor contracts professionals while improving governance frameworks, operational tools, processes, and training.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive experience in federal contracts management, subcontract management, proposal support, negotiations, procurement, legal operations, or related disciplines.
• Extensive experience negotiating and administering complex U.S. government contracts and direct experience in federal information technology contracting.
• Deep knowledge of federal procurement principles and compliance requirements, including FAR Parts 12 and 15 and DFARS.
• Experience leading complex, high-value negotiations with multidisciplinary teams and executive stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, risk mitigation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• U.S. citizenship, eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance, and residence in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia are required. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is also required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, civilian agencies, or other federal customers.
• Experience with FFP, CPFF, T&M, IDIQ, GWAC, BPA, and task-order contract vehicles.
• Experience with cloud computing, cybersecurity, managed infrastructure, hardware/software, or mission professional services contracts.
• Active Secret clearance, CFCM, CPCM, NCMA certification, JD, or legal contract-law background.
