Structural Engineer Intern (Protective Design & Security)

What you will do

• Support engineering work involving blast effects, progressive collapse, structural hardening, and related protective design topics.
• Assist with analysis, modeling, and calculations for protective design and physical security.
• Prepare reports, calculations, technical summaries, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, planners, and security specialists in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Participate in on-site assessments, field surveys, and construction-phase activities.

Requirements

• Be a current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrate interest in protective design, security, resilience, and hazard-resistant engineering.
• Have strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino/Grasshopper, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar design, visualization, documentation, and computational tools.
