NPI Supplier Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Austin, TX, United States; onsite role with 20% travel. Relocation is not eligible.

Salary: $96,000–$132,000 per year

What you will do

• Partner with new product development and introduction teams to clarify engineering drawing requirements and involve suppliers in specification reviews.
• Support design for manufacturability and identify best-fit suppliers for semiconductor capital equipment components and assemblies.
• Participate in supplier selection, technical audits, capability evaluations, and supplier performance improvement.
• Resolve quality problems and incidents by driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Evaluate materials, qualified sources, supply markets, and cost drivers to improve value, lead times, system performance, product life, and risk management.
• Source new technologies from qualified suppliers and present NPI and supplier engagement updates to business and supplier quality leadership.

Requirements

• Experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry with build-to-print components and contract-manufactured assemblies or modules.
• Experience working with mechanical and electrical product development engineers on supply chain and design-for-manufacturability improvements.
• Knowledge of supplier quality, technical requirements, supplier audits, problem resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Preferred commodity experience includes machined parts, sheet metal, cables and harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Ability to solve complex problems, build supplier partnerships, communicate sensitive information, and build consensus.
• Must work in Austin, Texas; the position includes approximately 20% travel and is not relocation eligible.
