Senior Software Engineer - Distribution and Supply

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States

Salary: $184,500–$258,000 annual total cash range, with potential pay up to $295,000 based on sustained performance.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate scalable and resilient services end to end.
• Develop pricing and marketplace infrastructure for high-volume travel requests.
• Define technical direction and best practices for code quality, observability, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product, design, and partner engineering teams on integrated solutions.
• Resolve production issues and improve reliability through automation, monitoring, and operational support.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience.
• High proficiency in Java or other JVM languages such as Scala and Kotlin, or systems languages such as Rust.
• Experience owning services or components through design, implementation, quality, and operational health.
• Strong low-level system design, API design, data modeling, microservices, automated testing, and CI/CD skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale, high-traffic distributed systems, performance tuning, capacity planning, and resilience engineering.
• Rust or other systems-level language experience for performance-critical components.
• Technical leadership, design and code reviews, and mentoring experience.
• Observability and operational excellence experience, including metrics, alerting, incident response, and post-incident analysis.
• Familiarity with responsible use of AI-driven development tools.
