TL;DR

Location: Needham, Massachusetts, United States; ability to travel to manufacturing sites or supplier facilities may be required.

Annual salary: $60,000–$95,000 USD

What you will do

  • Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, DVP&R, safety reviews, and design verification and validation throughout new product development.
  • Analyze engineering changes, manufacturing documentation, test documentation, and design-for-manufacturability considerations to prevent quality risks.
  • Represent quality requirements in cross-functional teams and lead input tracker meetings covering pre-production risks and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Supply Chain on process controls, quality gates, supplier 8D responses, and CAPA activities.
  • Analyze pre-production build data, test failures, and early field learnings to define quality metrics and acceptance criteria.
  • Present validation status, quality risks, and corrective-action progress to senior management and cross-functional leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Product Development, Human Factors Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of engineering experience involving design verification and validation, preferably in consumer goods.
  • Hands-on experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, design reviews, engineering change management, and verification and validation methods.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; collaborative work across engineering, product development, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience with high-volume, rapid consumer product development cycles.
  • Familiarity with PPAP, incoming quality controls, supplier quality processes, human factors engineering, or usability validation.
  • SharePoint knowledge.
