Building an AI-powered automated design engine for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.

What you will do

• Bring hands-on electrical engineering expertise into an automated design engine.
• Develop and validate electrical design deliverables for utility-scale power generation, data centers, and other large capital projects.
• Define what constitutes a correct electrical deliverable and set quality standards for shipped outputs.
• Design large-scale power distribution systems, including one-line diagrams, load flow, HV/MV distribution, substations, transformers, and switchgear.
• Translate engineering judgment, review practices, and design decisions into scalable software capabilities.
• Identify critical bottlenecks and solve high-impact technical problems through hands-on execution.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on electrical design experience at a senior level.
• Experience with one or more phases of design, construction, commissioning, or operation of utility-scale power generation facilities.
• End-to-end ownership of electrical designs for large-scale power distribution systems.
• Broad understanding of how civil engineering connects with adjacent disciplines, plus deep expertise in one or two areas.
• Strong first-principles thinking, technical attention to detail, and willingness to execute rather than manage others' work.
• Ability to work in person in San Francisco, California.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems, gas plants, data centers, or heavy industrial facilities.
• Experience building calculation, analysis, or design-automation tools.
• Experience using AI coding agents such as Codex or Claude Code.
