Staff Commissioning Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; on-site. Travel to the Brighton factory and deployment sites may be required for up to 75% of the time.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 per year plus bonus and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Own the Spark commissioning program across factory testing, site integration, integrated systems testing, and operational handover.
• Define L1–L5 responsibilities and create standardized commissioning plans, test scripts, quality gates, and turnover packages.
• Lead factory acceptance and integration testing for electrical and controls systems at the Brighton factory.
• Oversee installation validation, startup, and integrated systems testing at deployment sites, including connections to power, cooling, and network infrastructure.
• Track commissioning issues, identify root causes, and drive improvements in module design, supplier quality, manufacturing, and commissioning processes.
• Manage commissioning agents and suppliers, resolve technical escalations, coordinate training, and enforce safety and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in data center commissioning, construction, or critical infrastructure delivery, including ownership of commissioning programs across multiple projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent commissioning experience.
• Expert knowledge of L1–L5 commissioning and related documentation and testing requirements.
• Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, UPS, and PDUs, with hands-on data center infrastructure commissioning experience.
• Experience with factory acceptance or factory witness testing for prefabricated, skid-mounted, or modular equipment.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, sequences of operation, submittals, and test procedures, and manage third-party vendors against scope, schedule, and quality requirements.

Nice to have

• CxA, CCP, or equivalent commissioning certification.
• Experience with manufacturing or production-line commissioning and scaling processes from first article to volume production.
• Experience with high-density AI and GPU compute deployments.
• Experience building digital commissioning tools, test automation, or fleet-wide test-result tracking systems.
