Senior Staff Applications Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; on-site

Compensation: $190,000–$215,000 per year plus bonus; restricted stock units included.

What you will do

• Build and maintain qualification criteria, scoring models, decision thresholds, and reporting for Spark modular data center and Spark-Liquid deployments.
• Assess sites and commercial opportunities across power, thermal, civil, structural, and physical interfaces.
• Provide escalated technical judgments for undefined sites, non-standard configurations, and contested opportunities.
• Evaluate edge deployments, distributed energy assets, industrial sites, and third-party colocation or shell-rent arrangements.
• Conduct site walks with development, utility, and partner stakeholders while maintaining technical risks and product requirements.
• Translate engineering assumptions and tradeoffs into diligence inputs, capital-impact assessments, and executive go/no-go decisions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in data center infrastructure, power generation, utility interconnection, industrial capital projects, or modular and containerized systems.
• Working fluency across electrical, mechanical/thermal, civil, and structural engineering disciplines.
• Experience making feasibility decisions from first principles under incomplete information and with capital consequences.
• Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs credibly to developers, utilities, enterprise customers, executives, and commercial partners.
• Ability to connect engineering decisions to $/MW, capital expenditure, PUE, and deployment schedules.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience with modular, containerized, or prefabricated infrastructure product lines.
• Familiarity with agency certification and AHJ coordination for modular electrical equipment.
• Experience with energy development, interconnection processes and queues, and behind-the-meter site configurations.
