Specialty Pharmacist - Kirkland, WA

What you will do

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations, accurate dispensing, patient safety, prescription processing, drug storage, and security.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
• Manage controlled substance oversight, regulatory inspections, audits, records, and responses to regulatory and accrediting organizations.
• Collaborate with providers and clinic staff on coordinated care, formulary optimization, therapeutic substitution, patient counseling, and prior authorization reviews.
• Support specialty medication access through benefits investigation, appeals, financial assistance, and incident resolution.
• Manage inventory, procurement, temperature-sensitive drug handling, recalls, workflow improvement, staff training, and pharmacy growth initiatives.

Requirements

• Must work onsite at the customer clinic in Kirkland, Washington.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or an equivalent advanced degree.
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of employment, eligible to become Pharmacist-in-Charge in Washington.
• Experience with specialty medications, benefits investigation, prior authorization, financial assistance, and patient access support.
• Experience with pharmacy software such as QS1, ComputerRx, PioneerRx, or WAM.
• Strong organization, documentation, problem-solving, patient communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with EMR systems such as EPIC, Cerner, or NextGen.
• Experience with specialty pharmacy systems such as Therigy, Asembia1, or ScriptMed.
• Experience working in a startup environment and building pharmacy workflows from the ground up.
