What you will do

• Provide childbirth preparation and prenatal education to expectant parents through classroom, virtual, and individualized sessions.
• Deliver education using the organization’s curriculum and adapt instruction to group learning needs.
• Review and update course content with department leadership to reflect changing clinical practice recommendations.
• Evaluate teaching effectiveness and adjust education strategies accordingly.
• Help plan, implement, and evaluate community women’s health programs with department colleagues and hospital staff.
• Use PowerPoint and audiovisual equipment to support presentations and complete assigned special projects.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Must hold one of the following: American Heart Association BLS instructor status, Certified Childbirth Educator, Certified Breastfeeding Counselor, or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
• At least one year of labor and delivery staff RN or postpartum nursing experience required, depending on the program focus.
• Strong presentation skills and clinical experience in labor and delivery or other maternal-newborn areas.
• Ability to use PowerPoint and audiovisual equipment.

Nice to have

• At least one year of group teaching experience.
