Director of Engineering (AI)

Location: Dallas, TX — hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Lead delivery across multiple Product Engineering pods and ensure predictable, high-quality releases.
• Stand up and scale new pods around iterative, agentic, loop-based development models.
• Translate roadmap priorities and business requirements into executable work with Product and business stakeholders.
• Maintain hands-on involvement in technical design, code, deployments, architecture, testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Coach engineering managers and senior engineers while driving hiring, performance management, and career growth.
• Report delivery health, risks, velocity, and escalations to senior leadership, and expand AI-assisted SDLC practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years leading engineering managers or senior technical leads.
• Experience building or restructuring pod-based or iterative engineering teams and shipping complex customer-facing software at scale.
• Strong technical judgment across modern architecture, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, web applications, and integrations.
• Strong proficiency in .NET Core, C#, TypeScript, and/or Python, with experience using REST APIs, SQL, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with cloud-based development; Azure is preferred.

• Experience in a regulated or healthcare-adjacent environment.
• Experience experimentally scaling AI-assisted software development tools and practices.
