Software Engineer Intern (AI)

Location: Fully on-site in Arlington, VA; Mount Laurel, NJ; or San Diego, CA. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Salary: $28–$34 per hour

What you will do

• Develop, test, maintain, and modernize software applications and features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement capabilities and resolve defects.
• Write reliable, maintainable code aligned with engineering, security, and quality standards.
• Integrate software components, APIs, and third-party technologies.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and software deployment.
• Create technical documentation and contribute across the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, data science, cybersecurity, mathematics, or aeronautical engineering.
• Familiarity with Git, Linux-based environments, command-line tools, SQL, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Docker, Podman, or OCI-compliant container technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with automation scripting using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Groovy.
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, or upgrading software applications and services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, DevSecOps, secure software development, and Agile practices.
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
• Initiative, willingness to learn, and ownership of assigned work.
