Software Engineering Internship (Manufacturing)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States. Applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR, including U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons.

Hourly pay: $30–$50 USD

What you will do

• Build pipelines to ingest, digitize, label, and structure technical drawings, CAD files, and engineering documentation.
• Develop internal tools that improve engineering and manufacturing workflows across factories and the Protoshop.
• Design and ship end-to-end features spanning backend services, data storage, and frontend interfaces.
• Work with engineers and production teams to identify bottlenecks and translate them into software solutions.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability while writing tested and documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and solve real production problems with software users.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer or software engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, with the ability to apply them to large-scale, messy problems.
• Working familiarity with storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and frontend frameworks.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar tools independently, take ownership, and communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR.
