TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineering Technician III / Test Cell (Diesel Engine Manufacturing): Supporting diesel engine test-cell operations, manufacturing engineering projects, tooling, fixtures, documentation, and process implementation with an accent on engine testing, equipment troubleshooting, and production support. Focus on diagnosing test cells, implementing new equipment and processes, designing tooling and plant layouts, and performing root-cause corrective actions.

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global Remanufacturing facility in Corinth, Mississippi, United States. First shift: 5:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., Monday–Thursday.

Salary: $28.60–$37.20 per hour, with pay depending on skills, experience, job level, market location, and performance.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose engine test cells and manufacturing equipment.
  • Support new product introduction, updated processes, equipment installation, commissioning, and trial runs.
  • Create and maintain standard work, safe operating procedures, control plans, PFMEA/SFMEA documentation, and MES work instructions.
  • Design and implement assembly tooling, fixtures, torque tooling, tooling drawings, and plant layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Investigate value-stream continuous-improvement opportunities and perform root-cause corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, cross-functional groups, and suppliers while supporting safety and Lean events.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in diesel engine manufacturing or a test facility, or an associate degree in Diesel Mechanics Technology or a similar field.
  • Experience reading wiring and mechanical schematics, process-flow diagrams, control plans, and PFMEAs.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing or equipment problems.
  • Ability to read precision gauges and use torque devices.
  • High proficiency with PC applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or engineering.
  • Experience with bill of materials, engine assembly, diesel or natural-gas engine testing, CAD software, MES, EPIX/PRWB, or purchasing systems.
  • Tooling and fixturing design, capital project implementation, and process-improvement experience.
  • Strong diesel engine knowledge, including engines from 7L through C175-20.
