TL;DR
Technical Lead (Data Pipelines/AI): Leading the design and scaling of data ingestion and processing pipelines that unify petabyte-scale autonomous vehicle and partner data for AI training and research with an accent on distributed processing, reliability, and pipeline optimisation. Focus on reducing latency, improving failure recovery, establishing observability, and coordinating technical work across robotics, ML engineering, research, and data governance teams.

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid working model with in-person collaboration and remote work.

hirify.global is building an AI platform for autonomous driving that learns from real-world experience and supports scalable deployment across vehicles and OEM partners.

What you will do

  • Set the technical direction and roadmap for scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines.
  • Design and implement systems that unify internal, external, and partner data into consistent formats for AI training and research.
  • Evolve pipeline architecture and build interfaces that improve ingestion, transformation, distribution, reliability, and scalability.
  • Establish best practices for observability, alerting, monitoring, failure recovery, latency reduction, and SLA performance.
  • Collaborate with robotics, ML engineering, research, and data governance teams.
  • Mentor engineers and support hiring and onboarding.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on complex, scalable data pipelines.
  • 3+ years leading or architecting data engineering projects.
  • Technical leadership experience in pipeline engineering or a related domain.
  • Expertise in modern pipeline architectures and DAG-based orchestration, such as Airflow, Flyte, or Ray.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering, distributed processing, and pipeline optimisation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Nice to have

  • Experience with robotics or autonomous vehicle sensor data pipelines.
  • Experience with third-party dataset ingestion and transformation.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, TISAX, ASPICE, or other data governance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience integrating observability and monitoring solutions.
