Assistant Professor of Music Therapy

Location: Canyon, Texas, United States; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout employment.

What you will do

• Administer the undergraduate Music Therapy program.
• Teach undergraduate Music Therapy courses and other related courses.
• Coordinate and administer the clinical experience component for students.
• Teach additional courses such as Music Theory, Music Education, vocal or instrumental performance, or conducting, depending on qualifications and experience.
• Maintain an active program of research and publication.
• Serve on university committees and in leadership roles in community and professional organizations as requested.

Requirements

• Doctorate such as a PhD, EdD, or DMA in Music Therapy or a related field.
• MT-BC certification and a master's degree in Music Therapy or a related area.
• At least 12 semester hours, or equivalent graduate credits, in Music Therapy beyond undergraduate equivalency requirements.
• At least three years of full-time clinical experience in Music Therapy or equivalent part-time experience.
• Ability to teach effectively in classroom, online, and hybrid formats; clinically supervise undergraduate students; and administer a Music Therapy program.
• Knowledge of Music Therapy research, successful research publication, and active participation in professional organizations.

Nice to have

• At least two years of previous college-level teaching experience.
