Cloud Systems Architect

Location: 100% remote within the Continental United States

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Design end-to-end cloud-native architectures across compute, networking, storage, identity, data, and observability.
• Lead architecture reviews, approval processes, and technical decision-making for major cloud initiatives.
• Define cloud landing zones, account structures, tagging strategies, reference architectures, and reusable engineering patterns.
• Architect cloud security, identity, compliance, networking topologies, hybrid connectivity, and private endpoints.
• Lead cloud migration, modernization, re-platforming, platform consolidation, capacity planning, and cost optimization programs.
• Produce architecture artifacts, engage cloud providers, mentor engineering teams, and evaluate emerging cloud capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture.
• Deep expertise designing cloud-native solutions on at least one major cloud platform.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, identity, security, containerization, serverless, and managed data services.
• Experience with cloud migration, modernization, architecture reviews, formal architecture documentation, and senior stakeholder communication.
• Cloud architecture certification from AWS, Azure, or GCP; candidates must work as direct full-time W2 employees in the United States.

Nice to have

• Multiple cloud architecture certifications.
• Multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architecture experience.
• Familiarity with TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Experience with regulated industries, cloud compliance, FinOps, and cost transparency initiatives.
