Platform Architect (AWS)

Location: Remote

Salary: $116,700–$180,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility based on individual and company performance.

What you will do

• Define cloud-native architecture patterns across AWS compute, networking, storage, security, identity, and AI/ML infrastructure.
• Design multi-account AWS organizations, landing zones, network topologies, governance standards, and reference architectures.
• Build and validate production-quality Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi with TypeScript or Python, and AWS CDK where appropriate.
• Prototype infrastructure end to end, review pull requests, resolve architecture decisions, and ensure deployments match the approved design.
• Deliver architecture diagrams, IaC repositories, runbooks, security and compliance documentation, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring while partnering with architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders on cloud strategy and delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Seven or more years of cloud architecture or cloud engineering experience, including recent enterprise-scale AWS design and delivery.
• Expert knowledge of AWS services, AWS Organizations, Control Tower, multi-account environments, cloud governance, and enterprise platform design.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Pulumi, AWS CDK, Git workflows, modular architecture, policy-as-code, state management, and drift detection.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, resilient infrastructure and supporting regulated environments such as HIPAA or SOC 2.
• Strong communication, documentation, analytical, decision-making, technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure such as SageMaker, Bedrock, or OpenSearch; FinOps tools; healthcare data platforms; HL7, FHIR, or Epic.
• Experience in healthcare or another highly regulated industry, embedded architecture, cloud migration, or platform modernization.
