Project Engineer

Location: Site-based role with employees working at least 60% of the week from a hirify.global office or work location in Carlsbad, California; Germantown, Maryland; or Englewood, Colorado. Other listed compensation locations include San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area.

Salary: $95,000–$149,500 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $117,500–$176,500 annually.

What you will do

• Support hardware platform evaluations through lab testing, results documentation, and findings tracking.
• Assist with technical specifications, deployment requirements, and site readiness assessments.
• Analyze capacity data and asset inventories for infrastructure refresh and lifecycle planning.
• Support troubleshooting of hardware, software, and deployment integration issues.
• Research vendor products and compare cost, capabilities, and operational requirements.
• Coordinate project activities, documentation, action items, and status updates across engineering, deployment, operations, and sourcing teams.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in project engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure operations, technical support, or a related technical field.
• Foundational knowledge of networking, server hardware, cloud platforms, security concepts, or infrastructure deployments.
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects and follow established procedures.
• Strong organizational, communication, analytical problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required.

Nice to have

• Exposure to infrastructure operations, telecommunications, networking, or cloud environments.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project tracking and documentation tools.
• Familiarity with hardware lifecycle management, inventory management, or deployment activities.
• Interest in large-scale infrastructure and global deployment operations.
