Data Scientist II, Outcomes Research (HEOR)

Location: Remote - California

Salary: $90,000–$135,000 annually in California; $100,000–$150,000 for NYC/SF locations. Compensation may vary for Colorado, Illinois, and New York.

What you will do

• Lead and execute HEOR and real-world evidence projects covering outcomes, treatment patterns, and healthcare resource utilization.
• Collaborate with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, and internal stakeholders on study design, analysis, interpretation, and publication.
• Select and adapt epidemiologic and health economic methodologies for complex research problems.
• Partner with scientists, engineers, and product developers to translate research into clinically actionable insights.
• Build reusable analytical code, templates, and workflows to improve the quality and efficiency of research engagements.
• Apply data governance, regulatory, and company requirements to real-world data use and reporting.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience, or equivalent, in data science, bioinformatics, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, immunology, or a related quantitative field.
• Computational experience with R and SQL applied to large-scale healthcare datasets.
• Strong knowledge of observational and real-world data analysis, including confounding adjustment methods such as propensity scores and inverse probability of treatment weighting.
• Experience with administrative claims, electronic health records, or clinico-genomic datasets.
• Experience with time-to-event and survival analysis, study-design inference, and communicating study limitations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex methodologies to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with oncology, cancer genetics, immunology, or molecular biology outcomes.
• Experience with Git, software testing, or validation processes.
• Experience in Phase II–IV oncology clinical trials or additional RWD and HEOR studies.
• Experience supporting FDA or other health-authority regulatory submissions.
• Experience with model building and validation, feature engineering, performance assessment, consulting, or client-facing work.
