Senior Software Engineer (C/C++)

What you will do

• Own the architecture, design, development, integration, and lifecycle maintenance of major Ethernet product features.
• Develop embedded software in C/C++ across platform, kernel, device driver, bootloader, and higher-level application layers.
• Design and execute unit, integration, system, and feature-level testing for functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Lead technical strategy, proof-of-concept investigations, technology evaluations, and product infrastructure improvements.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, product management, FPGA, hardware, and product teams to translate requirements into product capabilities.
• Provide technical mentoring, design guidance, code reviews, and architectural knowledge transfer to junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Must work from Dallas, Texas, United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Science, or equivalent education.
• Typically 8+ years of professional embedded software development experience or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
• Strong proficiency with Linux and Embedded Linux, including debugging, build systems, process management, performance analysis, multithreading, concurrency, and memory management.
• Experience with Git, source control workflows, CI/CD integration, complex debugging tools, and networking protocols including Ethernet and VLAN.
• Strong communication, analytical, investigative, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills; limited travel may be required.

Nice to have

• Carrier-grade telecom or datacom transport equipment development experience.
• Embedded Linux kernel and device driver development on ARM-based platforms.
• Knowledge of IEEE, ITU, and MEF standards, Layer 2 Ethernet, network management protocols, and high-availability architectures.
• Secure software development, open-source integration, CI/CD, and automated test framework experience.
