TL;DR
Bookkeeping & Finance Specialist (Accounting/AI): Maintaining accurate books, reconciliations, transaction records, and closing activities across multiple entities with an accent on financial data accuracy, recurring workflows, and process improvement. Focus on resolving discrepancies, improving bookkeeping operations through automation and AI tools, and developing toward financial reporting and analysis.
Location: Guatemala City, Guatemala — fully remote, work from home. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, subject to daylight saving changes.
Base salary: GTQ 9,500 per month.

What you will do
- Maintain accurate books across multiple entities, including properties and operating companies.
- Record and categorize transactions, invoices, expenses, and journal entries.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform high-volume bank and credit card reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues.
- Coordinate recurring accounting workflows and documentation with internal stakeholders.
- Improve bookkeeping processes and implement automation and AI tools for recurring tasks.
Requirements
- 2+ years of recent experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related finance role.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, including debits, credits, transaction coding, and reconciliations.
- Experience with bank or credit card reconciliations and accurate financial data review.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with reliable internet and work equipment.
- Intermediate English proficiency (B2) required.
Nice to have
- Perito Contador qualification.
- University studies in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with multi-entity bookkeeping, reporting, audits, tax work, or accounting environments.
- Experience using automation or AI tools in workflows.
